A study on the effect of date seed coffee on diabetic patients
Scientific Research A scientific study from the University of Salahaddin, College of Agricultural Engineering, Department of Food Technology, by Dr. Bawar Jamil Younis. Published in the International Journal of Environmental Sciences. It demonstrated the effectiveness of date seed coffee in combating diabetes, colon cancer, and many other diseases. It also contains high nutritional value and high levels of bioactive compounds, such as fiber and antioxidants. This research is considered a global scientific reference.
In the study, the effect of Zahdi date seed coffee on patients with type 2 diabetes was confirmed in the following way:
Verification Method:The experiment involved 30 volunteers:10 healthy individuals (negative control group – NCG).20 patients with type 2 diabetes, half of whom were taking oral medication (DG1) and the other half insulin treatment (DG2).Each patient consumed two cups daily of date seed coffee (10 grams of powder in 200 ml of water) in the morning and evening, without sugar, for 3 consecutive months.Fasting blood glucose (FBG) was measured before and after the experiment period. Results:For insulin users (DG2), the decrease in fasting blood glucose was very significant, reaching up to 61% in some cases. For the oral medication group (DG1), the decrease was smaller but still notable (up to 15%).In the control group (healthy individuals), there was no improvement; readings slightly increased (2–16%).Conclusion:Date seed coffee significantly helped lower blood glucose, especially in patients using insulin, indicating its potential as a supportive drink for managing type 2 diabetes.Scientific
